Estates & Gardens of the Cotswolds
Capturing the beauty of the English countryside through the charm of the Cotswolds
Day 1: Arrival
You arrive into London and take a private group sprinter for a one hour 30 minute transfer to your gorgeous boutique hotel, The Manor House.
Day 2: From Royal to Charming
You’ll be introduced to the Highgrove Estate. His Majesty The King Charles III came to Highgrove in 1980 and the house and gardens have since undergone many thoughtful innovations. Enjoy a private tour of the gardens followed by a very traditional, special high tea and champagne. In the late afternoon, the quintessential Cotswold town of Stow on the Wold is where you peek around in the darling English stores and antique shops. You’ll find plenty of gifts and special items to take home.
Day 3: Women of the Cotswolds
The morning begins with treatments at the gorgeously designed Daylesford Organic Farm, which is the passionate vision of an incredible business woman, Lady Carole Bamford. Enjoy a pilates class, massage or a game of padel tennis before touring the market gardens and a taking a cooking class with an amazing culinary team. You end the day walking the gardens of the former childhood home of the Mitford sisters.
Day 4. The Dollar Princess.
The stunning Blenheim Palace and gardens, a UNESCO heritage site, is the perfect example of English Baroque architecture, and birthplace of William Churchill. But the real stars of Blenheim are the women so instrumental to its existence, the clever Sara Churchill, the 1st Duchess of Marlborough, and the heiress, or dollar princess, Consuelo Vanderbilt.
Day 5. Country Pursuits.
The day starts in a different manner with a choice to take a horse ride, English style, through the countryside or for something even more exciting a lesson in Clay Pigeon shooting at one of the Olympic training centers for the sport. In either activity, you’ll enjoy a bit of the country life. After lunch, you leave the Cotswolds for a stay in Somerset at an incredible property, The Newt. The working country estate has acres of beautiful gardens, woodland, farmland and cyder orchards to explore.
Day 6. Grand Estates
Spend the morning and lunch enjoying the grounds of the Newt before driving to visit to Stourhead, a house and gardens that are now part of the National Trust. The Palladian house is set amid a ‘picnic perfect’ 2,650 acre expanse of lawns and extensive parkland.
Day 7. Departure with option of London Extension
The group trip ends today with one transfer together to the airport. For those interested in staying in London, you can take the Heathrow or Gatwick Express into London or share a black cab. You’ll be provided with a list of up to date exhibits and events happening in London during your extended visit, and we’re happy to help book hotels or other activities to make it easier for you.
